Junior platinum miner, Wesizwe, is targeting organic growth over the next five years, concentrating on the properties that it already owns.

The company has said it is looking to bed down and develop operations at its new mine when it is completed, before developing the properties surrounding that mine.

It is anticipated that the new mine will produce 180,000 oz of platinum group metals (pgms) once it is fully operational over the next five years and the firm has announced its latest set of drilling results for the six months to the end of June.

According to the figures, 6.244 million ounces are now recorded in the Indicated and Measured categories, Wesizwe explained, accounting for 93.2 per cent of the original ounce target, which was set in January 2005.

Describing the results as "very significant" for Wesizwe, Chairperson Thuthukile Skweyiya went on to state that they should guarantee the first 25 years of production for the company.
