Platinum jewellers are being invited to submit designs for a new collection set to be launched in the UK in June, it has been confirmed.

London-based retailer PureJewels is planning to unveil its 'Platinum Heritage Collection' at trade and customer cocktail events during the London Jewellery Week.

Designers are being encouraged to provide their ideas for the collection - which will feature a platinum necklace, earrings and ring - by the end of March.

"We will work with three designers to come up with three concepts based on PureJewels' heritage - Indian, African and UK themes," said PureJewels' spokesman Jayant Raniga.

"These collections will be manufactured here in the UK - a vanguard collaboration between the design community, the manufacturing community and the retail community, breaking new ground in the UK sector."

The company, which caters for south Asian and western tastes, is hoping the collection will further boost its reputation among its contemporaries in London's Green Street jewellery quarter.

Billed as a celebration of the UK capital's "unique heritage and reputation for cutting-edge design", the London Jewellery Week will take place between June 7th and 13th.
