TGM selects CRT technology to upgrade vehicles 27th April 2011
TGM Group, formally Tellings Golden Miller, has chosen Eminox's Continuously Regenerating Trap (CRT) technology to upgrade 71 vehicles to meet the new London Low Emission Zone (LEZ) requirements.
A CRT is a full filtration DPF filter coated in platinum, which reacts with exhaust gases to reduce emissions and particulate matter.
The Eminox CRT achieves a higher than 90 per cent particulate matter reduction and meets new Transport for London LEZ phase 4 requirements.
Phase 4 introduces a tougher standard of Euro 4 particulate matter for buses and coaches over 3.5 tonnes.
Of a fleet of 420 coaches and buses, TGM said 71 will not meet these standards.
After considering a range of options for the fleet - a mix of Scania, Mercedes, Volvo and VDL vehicles - the firm decided that the CRT technology would be the most cost-effective solution.
Richard Telling, group engineering director at TGM Group, said: "Eminox has an impressive reputation for providing high quality, cost-effective emission control systems.
"I am convinced that Eminox and Scania GB will deliver the quality of service they are known for and that this project will ensure our vehicle fleet is compliant with the new LEZ requirements ahead of time."
