Tefal launches palladium-coated steam iron 7th December 2009
An enterprising new steam iron which features a palladium coating has been launched by leading firm Tefal, TradeArabia reported yesterday (6th December).
The Ultimate Autoclean uses the precious metal in catalysis on the soleplate, which helps to automatically get rid of microfibres before they can attach to the surface.
Palladium was selected for this purpose due to its durability and its presence also allows for a more efficient ironing technique as the process can markedly improve glide ability.
The ground-breaking iron also boasts 2,400W of power and a 150W/g minimum steam output, plus the capability to control both power and temperature automatically.
Other features include easy back-filling of water, a comfortable grip and user-friendly ergonomic controls.
European consumers will now be buying the device after previous Tefal launches, such as Programme Eight and the Recall of Pro Express Anti Calac, proved successful across the continent.
Tefal, which is owned by Groupe SEB, is a French cookware and small appliance manufacturer whose name is a portmanteau of the words teflon and aluminium.
