Taiwan firm receives Johnson Matthey hydrogen purifier 22nd November 2007

Johnson Matthey's Taiwanese division has supplied a hydrogen purifier to the country's Chi Mei Entech company in Taipei.

Through its Taiwanese sales and service agent, Pionics Technology Corporation, Johnson Matthey has supplied a Model PSH-30 hydrogen purifier, which uses palladium membrane technology.

The Model PSH-30 hydrogen purifier is capable of hydrogen flows of 30 Nm3/hr and has a catalytic pre-purifier to protect against oxygen impurity spikes. It also provides 99.9999999 per cent pure hydrogen for wafer fabrication

It will be used as part of Chi Mei Entech's production of LEDs used to backlight LCD screens.

Chi Mei Entech is a division of Chi Mei Optoelectronics, which produces panels for notebooks, desktop monitors and televisions and is the world's leading supplier of large-size LCD television panels.
