Strike action could take place at Two Rivers platinum project 26th August 2008
Impala Platinum and African Rainbow Minerals could be subject to strike action after September.
Both companies are involved in the Two Rivers mine project which is facing the strike because of "job grading" and pay.
According to the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM), the strike is not yet definite but could take place if no compromise is reached.
"If solutions are not forthcoming, we will have no alternative but to marshal our forces for strike action," a statement reported by Bloomberg read.
Meanwhile, the strike at Lonmin's Western Platinum mine, which began on Friday, is over.
Eliphus Ngoepe, regional chairman for NUM, said staff were back at work following the strike's conclusion.
Workers at the project put down their tools after demanding an apology from the mine's management over an issue involving an underground mine lift.
The lift reportedly arrived late prompting workers to insist on an apology from their bosses.
