Stillwater Mining COO resigns 29th November 2007

Stillwater Mining has announced that its Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, Stephen A Lang, is to resign from the firm.

The mining company has revealed that Mr Lang is resigning so as to "pursue and opportunity with another mining company" and his resignation will be effective from December 14th.

Commenting on Mr Lang's departure, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Francis R McAllister, said: "Steve's knowledge and experience have been invaluable to Stillwater since he joined us in September of 2003. He has been a key proponent of the changes in our operations and improvements to infrastructure implemented over the past several years."

He added: "We will miss Steve and wish him all the best in his future endeavours."

It is not yet known what new opportunity has prompted Mr Lang to leave his post at Stillwater, which is the only producer of palladium and platinum in the US.
