Rox hosts PGI exhibition with £100k platinum-woven dress 7th April 2011

Former Miss Scotland Nieve Jennings modelled a £100,000 platinum-woven dress as the Platinum Guild International's (PGI) travelling exhibition visited Glasgow.

Scottish jewellery maker Rox hosted the event on Tuesday evening (April 5th) at its Argyll Arcade store, Professional Jeweller reports.

The dress, which was designed by Italian couturier Domo Adami, had been crafted with microscopic threads of platinum.

In addition to the platinum dress, Miss Jennings wore the $250,000 (£153,000) Aqua necklace by Orlando Orlandini. This jewellery first went on display in India in 2004.

The necklace was described by PGI as capturing "the spirit of the metal in a masterpiece that conveys the whole platinum legend".

Miss Jennings told Professional Jeweller: "The platinum dress and necklace are absolutely stunning and it's definitely worth coming down to Rox to see them."

The dress will be on show at Rox's Glasgow store until Tuesday April 12th, as part of PGI UK's annual exhibition of some of the finest platinum pieces.

Kyron Keogh, co-owner of Rox jewellers added: "We believe in supporting the UK's most talented up-and-coming jewellery designers and we are delighted to be the only Scottish jeweller hosting this year's Platinum Guild International UK exhibition."
