Renova completes Ekaterinburg deal 20th February 2004

The Russian firm Renova has completed a deal with Ekaterinburg non-ferrous metals plant that will see it purchase two-thirds of Ekaterinburg's equity.

According to the Itar Tass news agency, Ekaterinburg explained that all legal procedures had been completed. It follows protracted discussions lasting a year.

The plant currently manufactures platinum catalyst gauzes, platinum-rhodium thermocouple assemblies, semis for jewellery, bushings, dental materials and jewellery products.

Renova plans to increase production volumes at the plant on the back of an expanded client base both at home and abroad.

The export programme will be reliant on contracts with firms in the CIS and the West for catalytic gauzes, thermocouple wire, pgm salts and other technical products.
