Prince Charles' new fiancee and long-term partner, Camilla Parker Bowles, has been showing off a stunning platinum and diamond ring after the pair announced their engagement yesterday.

The front pages of the newspapers were today emblazoned with pictures of the ring, which Camilla proudly displayed at Windsor Castle.

The ring is platinum with a square-cut central diamond and three diamond baguettes surrounding it.

"I am just coming down to earth," she told reporters.

The Queen issued her "warmest wishes" to the couple, who will be wed at Windsor Castle on April 8th.

Mrs Parker Bowles will assume the title of Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall after the marriage.
