A platinum watch was one of the top sellers at an auction in Monaco earlier this month.

The Only Watch 07 charity auction saw the sale of 35 remarkable timepieces, all of which were first in series, prototypes and one-of-a-kind items.

Vacheron Constantin's Malte Tourbillon Platinum watch sold at the auction for €130,000, one of the highest sales seen at the event.

The watch is a rare gentleman's platinum tourbillon regulator and includes a carriage bridge in platinum, which was a first for Vacheron Constantin.

The tonneau-shaped timepiece uses a large amount of platinum to good effect, with case, dial, strap stitching and buckle all made from the precious metal, JCK Online reports.

This year's Only Watch 07 event raised a total of over €2.75 million, which is being donated to medical research on Duchene Muscular Dystrophy. The amount was the largest ever achieved at a charity event held in Monaco.
