Platinum tops auction's list 30th January 2006

Platinum items are set to dominate an auction of celebrity clothing, as clothing and accessories worn by some of the world's biggest stars go under the hammer for charity.

The Clothes Off Our Back Foundation is launching its second annual Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award auction, which will feature some of the items worn by celebrities at those events.

Celebrities including Jessica Alba, Pamela Anderson and Golden Globe nominee Scarlett Johansson have already signed up to provide the auction with items worn by them on the red carpet at some of this year's awards ceremonies.

The auction will run until the end of March and one of the major attractions for potential bidders will be a pair of custom-made Gekko jeans, which are decorated with pure Platinum thread and signed by celebrities who visited the Platinum Guild International (PGI) style suite prior to the Golden Globes awards.

Numerous stars at the Golden Globes were spotted wearing platinum items, with icons such as Geena Davis and Reese Witherspoon choosing to step out in platinum jewellery.
