Platinum takes centre stage at jewellery fashion show 16th September 2005

Chris Aire's second annual jewellery fashion event served as another reminder of the growing popularity of platinum.

The runway show at the New York Public Library attracted some big names, including the likes of Selma Blair, Regina King and Wyclef Jean, eager to get close to action.

And it was platinum that took centre stage during the event, with Aire Traveler watches designed in platinum.

Also on show were the designer's famous platinum and diamond dog tag necklaces, a particular favourite of the celebrity classes, and the introduction of new Eternity Tags for pampered dogs.

Platinum has become increasingly popular with celebrities in recent times, largely thanks to the innovative use of and highly desirable look given to the precious metal by designers such as Chris Aire.

The designer also showed a more opulent side layered necklaces and basket-shaped earrings all adorning the models during the show.
