Platinum shines for Tiffany 3rd October 2006
Platinum jewellery has again helped to boost sales at high end jeweller, Tiffany.
The retailer has revealed that sales of platinum and diamond jewellery were strong during 2006, with engagement rings made from the precious metal proving particularly popular.
The firm stated that its high-end goods sales have also been strong during 2006 as demand in the over $10,000 market doing good trade for the company.
Furthermore, Tiffany revealed that sales were up across its geographical markets, in particular the Asia-Pacific markets, which posted a combined increase of 27 per cent over the course of the year.
Demand in Asia for platinum jewellery has increased in recent years and is set to grow again over the coming months as the region's holiday season approaches, experts have pointed out.
