Platinum leading wedding jewellery changes 1st December 2005

The traditions of weddings are changing, as are the choices of wedding jewellery made by brides.

An increasing number of brides are now choosing platinum rings and other items in place of traditional pieces handed down from older generations.

In the past, it was generally the case that items would be passed down from one generation to the next, meaning that a bride's choice of bridal jewellery was severely limited.

However, with the advent of the nuclear family more people now have the choice to shop around for their bridal jewellery and an increasing number of them are looking to platinum for their big day.

According to Rapaport News, bridal jewellery is now becoming younger and more chic, as brides look to make the most of their wedding day.

Platinum rings and other pieces are often used to hold diamonds and precious stones, while the increase in cultural diversity means that items more traditionally associated with Muslim ceremonies has become popular with the middle classes.

Demand for platinum jewellery has also been boosted by the number of celebrities seen wearing the precious metal, with famous women often seen sporting beautiful platinum pieces.
