The first Platinum Retailer Tour, which will feature the winners of last year's DIA Lonmin Design Innovation Award, is currently being organised by Platinum Guild International UK.

Five retailers in London, Nottingham, Glasgow, Belfast and Manchester displayed pieces of jewellery designed by the competition winners, enhanced by photo calls and VIP evenings where people could view the displays.

Rox Jewellers in Glasgow invited Miss Scotland to attend a shoot wearing a platinum evening gown and a unique, specially-commissioned necklaces from Orlando Orlandini.

"We had a fantastic response from all the retailers who agreed to take part in the first stage of the Retailer Tour … The result was excellent coverage for platinum and sales for the retailers who took part," said Platinum Guild International.

The guild recently announced that it will sponsor the Platinum Bridal Collection of the Year event, which takes place next month at the Grosvenor Hotel.
