A unique new mobile phone worth almost £100,000 and featuring platinum has been unveiled in the UK.

The Nokia Supreme contains 83g worth of platinum through its solid hallmarked platinum veneers, eight screws and navigation buttons, which sit on a diamond mount.

Designed and crafted by Stuart Hughes, the handset is also encrusted with 12.5 carats of pink diamonds and a 3.5-carat, single-cut flawless diamond in the centre.

"There is no finer relationship than platinum and diamonds," commented Mr Hughes on his official website.

"They are pure, rare and eternal. The Nokia Supreme is a true celebration of your individuality."

Only three models of the extremely limited edition Nokia 8800 have been made, retailing at £99,995.

Mr Hughes also announced recently that he has created the world's most expensive iPhone, featuring an array of gold and diamonds and costing £1.92 million to purchase.

The handset, which took ten months to create, was commissioned by an anonymous Australian gold mining magnate.
