Platinum Guild International (PGI) confirmed yesterday (27th July) that it has relaunched its consumer website with a range of new features for retailers and designers.

The organisation decided to explore changes to its PreciousPlatinum.com resource with the main aim of increasing awareness of platinum and boosting sales of the metal.

Its popular Design Gallery has received a major update, with visitors able to print PDFs of platinum jewellery and companies offered PGI's detailed traffic tracking system.

The other significant development is the improved Media Centre, which features platinum jewellery-themed news, celebrity images, consumer videos and advertisements.

PGI Marketing Communications Manager Michelle Peranteau commented: "The new features on PreciousPlatinum.com address feedback we received from consumer focus groups and members of the trade.

"The revamped PreciousPlatinum.com has retained many of the established favourite features of the site, but they have evolved to answer the needs of the site visitors and trade."

Ms Peranteau added that the improvements have already been met with a "great response" from both manufacturers and retailers.

Among the other changes are new designer profiles, a 'find a platinum retailer' tool and a comprehensive hints and tips section to advise and support sales associates.

PGI was founded in 1975 and is funded by leading platinum producers and refiners.
