Nkwe Platinum postpones listings 23rd May 2007
Mining company Nkwe Platinum has announced it is to delay listing on the AIM and JSE until after the summer.
The firm will now make its listings in September, because the summer months bring with them a lull in activity in the European markets, the company has explained.
Chief Executive, Maredi Mphahlele, explained to MiningMX: "The advice we've got is that nobody lists in Europe in June or July and that it would be best to aim for September. That's what we will do."
He added that the company should also have completed a major transaction by the time it now lists in London and South Africa.
Mr Mphahlele said that Nkwe is hoping to conclude the acquisition of 60 per cent of three farms contiguous to its two Eastern Limb farms, on which it has an option to buy. The three farms are owned by Nkwe's black empowerment partner, Genorah, and it is believed that the three farms have as much as 100 million ounces of platinum group metals (pgms) in situ.
