NGK launches new spark plugs 7th October 2005
Spark plug manufacturer NGK has announced the creation of two new products designed to take forward the development of spark plug technology.
Its G-Power spark plug contains a fine platinum core to a sharp pointed ground electrode, which allows for improved ignition and combustion, thereby providing the engine with a greater fuel economy and cleaner burning.
According to Business Times, NGK Malaysia's senior sales manager Steven Chai believes that the product, together with the new Iridium IX spark plugs, which use iridium electrodes for a lower voltage requirement for the spark, can ensure the company remains ahead of the market in Malaysia.
He commented that the company currently has 80 per cent of the spark plug market in Malaysia.
The introduction of the new products comes as the global market for spark plugs is booming.
A recent report revealed that platinum spark plugs have taken over the North American market, with demand increasing due to their longevity and durability.
