New platinum sparkplug enhances vehicles' fuel efficiency 29th June 2007
New advances in spark plug technology are enabling drivers to get the best out of their cars and save money on running costs, it has been claimed.
In particular the new Platinum IR Fusion from Bosch can result in significant savings for drivers since it is more efficient at converting energy from gas, according to Reid Smith, the firm's Product Manager.
Moreover, the innovative product lowers gap wear that could impair the performance of older spark plugs and reduces the voltage requirement on the ignition system and thus provides a better performance and longer service life.
Mr Smith said: "From copper to platinum and iridium - modern spark plugs help motorists get a lot closer to experiencing the highest level of performance and fuel economy their vehicle is capable of producing.
"Fresh premium spark plugs help extract more energy from the same amount of gas. They improve the transfer of energy from the ignition system to the fuel, thus offering improved fuel efficiency and more power," he added.
