New online inventory tool for Johnson Matthey customers 9th June 2010
Johnson Matthey (JM) has launched a new online inventory tool to work alongside a number of its pgm-based products, it emerged today (9th June).
The resource aims to help customers obtain pricing and delivery information for its nitinol super-elastic tubing, wire and sheet, plus its platinum, iridium or gold cut tube.
Having recently increased its inventory of cut tubing, ring electrodes and marker bands to more than 500 products, the tool is sure to be a valuable addition for the company.
Customers can now use it on Johnson Matthey's medical website to access popular sizes and sort by fields to ascertain a product's required dimension, finish and alloy.
"More than 20 years' experience with NiTi shape memory alloys enables JM to provide custom and standard nitinol components to customers' exacting specifications," read a company release.
"Johnson Matthey provides platinum group metals and nitinol for use by medical device manufacturing facilities."
The firm's raw materials and precious metal tube and wire are manufactured in both its UK facility and a plant in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Nitinol tube, wire, sheet and machined parts are created at the JM plant in San Jose, California, with micromachining operations taking place in San Diego.
Johnson Matthey can be traced back to 1817, when Percival Norton Johnson set up the business as a London-based gold assayer.
