New DC/DC exchanger to accelerate fuel cell car production 25th October 2005
A new DC/DC exchanger developed by the Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute will reportedly speed up mass production of a commercial fuel cell car.
The exchanger, produced by China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock Industry Group, features high power density and high efficiency, Asia Pulse reports.
The device is suitable for fuel cell cars in need of small, lightweight, powerful and efficient exchangers and it has been used in a new fuel cell car developed by Shanghai Fuel Cell Vehicle Powertrain.
Analysts are predicting that fuel cell cars currently under development in China will be on show at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai.
Shanghai Fuel Cell Vehicle Powertrain has developed a new fuel cell car prototype, which it has named START II.
The company has received investment from a number of companies as well as individual investors to deliver the new prototype and deliver a viable, efficient alternative to fossil fuel-powered vehicles.
