Nano-materials maker wins exclusive distribution agreement 26th September 2006

Leading nano-materials manufacturer, Catalysts and Chemicals Industries (CCIC) has agreed a collaborative deal with Australian firm Dyesol.

The manufacturer of Dye Solar Cell products, which use ruthenium dye, has appointed CCIC as its exclusive distributor in Japan.

CCIC is a leader in the manufacture and sale of catalysts for the petroleum refining and fine chemicals industry and has used this knowledge to develop innovative technologies for the creation of nano-materials.

Among the technologies CCIC has been developing are nano-materials which can be used in a variety of products, including semiconductors, liquid crystal displays, solar cells and fuel cells.

"We are extremely pleased to be involved with CCIC because the application of their existing expertise in industrial scale systems for manufacture of nano-materials has the potential to greatly accelerate mass production of dye sensitised solar cells," commented Sylvia Tulloch, managing director at Dyesol.

The agreement between the two companies will be formally launched at the International Solar Energy Society's annual conference and technology expo in October this year.
