Low carbon and fuel cell network established 31st May 2006
Leading sustainable transport energy firms from the UK have joined forces to create the Low Carbon and Fuel Cell Technology Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN).
Fuel Cell Today, the Centre of Excellence for Low Carbon and Fuel Cell Technologies, Fuel Cells UK and Foresight Vehicle were all involved in forming the KTN, which is designed as a means of exchanging innovations and improving fuel cell production and low carbon performance in the UK.
The new network is also supported by the UK government's department of trade and industry.
Sir David King, the government's chief scientific adviser, was at the launch in London.
He said: "Low Carbon and Fuel Cell technologies have a role to play in our future energy systems. I am very pleased to announce the launch of Low Carbon and Fuel Cell Technology KTN."
Low carbon technologies help reduce transport emissions and improve fuel efficiency via alternative fuels, the use of lightweight materials, driveline and powertrain developments.
