Lonmin unveils Design Innovation Award winners 8th June 2011

Eight platinum jewellery designers have been honoured at an annual awards ceremony.

Lonmin, the world's third-largest primary platinum producer, has announced the winners of its Design Innovation Awards recently after completing the judging process in May.

In the Emerging Designers category - for jewellers with less than five years' commercial experience - the winners were Leyla Abdollahi, Alexander Davis, Sarah Ho and Anthony Roussel. Alexander Davis was among the winners for this award in last year's competition.

Zoe Harding, Fei Liu and Anna Louca triumphed in the Established Designers category, which is for designers with more than five years experience.

The winning designs will go on show at International Jewellery London (IJL) event at Earls Court in September, where they will be displayed on the Johnson Matthey stand.

Judges for the competition included Johnson Matthey's Jo Trivedi, Wilma Swarts from Lonmin, Sam Willoughby from IJL and Laura McCreddie, editor of Retail Jeweller.

According to the trade magazine, the winners were chosen "because of their innovation, wow factor and specificity to platinum".
