Jubilee calls in Snowden to push Tjate platinum project forward 24th March 2010
Jubilee Platinum announced today (24th March) that it has joined forces with Snowden in order to advance its Tjate platinum project.
The platinum miner has suggested that the bankable feasibility study for the South African property will include some infill drilling and metallurgical testing on the UG2 reef.
Snowden has been recruited to oversee the engineering, financial and environmental aspects of the project and the consulting firm could release a preliminary feasibility statement by the end of the year.
Jubilee Chief Executive Colin Bird said: "Rapidly increasing platinum group metal prices and the apparent improvement in global economies gives the board the confidence to advance the project to final evaluation."
Last year, a Samrec-compliant resource statement suggested that Tjate, which comprises three contiguous farms, could offer an attributable total of 44 million ounces 6E pgm plus gold.
Jubilee has also previously indicated that it hopes to achieve an exploration target of 368 million tonnes, containing 70 million ounces 6E pgm plus gold, from its 63 per cent-owned property.
Tjate is downdip from Anglo Platinum's developing Twickenham platinum mine and Impala Platinum's operating Marula platinum mine.
