Tiffany to Open Second Boutique at London's Heathrow Airport (25/09/09)
Tiffany and Co has confirmed that it intends to open a second boutique at Heathrow Airport in London in December.
The outlet, which will be located at Terminal Three, will cover approximately 86 square metres and is set to be the luxury jeweller's eighth store in the capital.
"We have seen that visitors travelling through Heathrow are delighted by the presence and convenience of a Tiffany airport boutique," said Melvyn Kirtley, the company's Group Vice-President for Europe.
GIA platinum exhibit to feature pieces new to US (02/10/09)
Four platinum pieces from two celebrated jewellery collections will appear in the US for the first time at a special exhibit in November.
The designs, which are taken from the 'Aqua Collection' and the 'Plat Africa' assortment, will be on show at the Gemological Institute of America's (GIA) 'Best of Platinum' offering.
"Each of these pieces capture the intrinsic beauty and versatility of platinum and showcase talented designers across the world," said James Courage, Chief Executive of Platinum Guild International, which is sponsoring both collections.

Meanwhile, the GIA has also held its annual Jewellery Career Fair and Open House at its worldwide headquarters in Carlsbad.
The star attraction was a necklace called 'Shibuki', which contains 5.52 carats of diamonds set in 158g of platinum and is one of the four items that comprise the Aqua Collection.
In addition, the piece made an appearance at this year's Primetime Emmy Awards.

A new doll featuring platinum and worth $167,000 (£101,967) has been displayed at an exhibit in Tokyo, ABC News reports.
The 'Super Hello Kitty Jewel Doll' contains a one-carat diamond on its ribbon, 403 pink sapphires, a citrine for its yellow nose, black spinels for its eyes and a total of 1,939 pieces of white topaz for its head on a platinum body.
Standing at 10.5cm tall, the doll was created by luxury crystal maker Swarovski, Japanese jeweller IK and toy firm Sanrio to mark the 35th anniversary of the Hello Kitty character.

Online jewellery boutique Studio Edge is set to debut a new collection of palladium pieces for men.
OSARE, which is designed by Gary Thompson, features 15 offerings - including pendants, rings, cufflinks and bracelets - all with a hidden black diamond.
Mr Thompson said: "OSARE is a collection of jewellery that was designed to celebrate the strength of men; not just physical strength, but emotional strength too.
"Physically, palladium may be light in weight, but it's immensely durable and doesn't tarnish, leather has a raw power to it and the black diamond symbolises authority and power."

The value of exports of watches manufactured from platinum in Switzerland declined by 28.5 per cent on a year-on-year basis in September.
