Katie Rowland wins the Lonmin Design Innovation Award for Platinum 2009 (02/09/09)

Katie Rowland has revealed the inspiration behind her new 'Siren' piece, which was honoured in the 'Emerging Designers' category at the recent Lonmin Design Innovation Awards.

The luxury jeweller explained that her enduring love for myth and legend contributed to her desire to create a design which could be worn by a modern-day "femme fatale".

"Siren has been created to inspire elegance and timeless beauty in a contemporary form - they truly are for the modern day femmes fatales who step out onto the red carpet'," she said.

"Cool platinum swirls sensuously over the ear, which in turn is enhanced by white diamonds set in gold to add a seductive sparkle as the piece glistens in the light … I want women to feel beautiful when they wear Siren."
