Members of the Green Bay Packers have received platinum rings to celebrate the team's victory in the 45th Super Bowl contest.

The Jostens rings are made of platinum, with 18-carat yellow gold and diamonds totalling 3.35 carats.

"Jostens has done a fantastic job of capturing the excitement of the win for everyone at the Packers," said Packers president and chief executive officer Mark Murphy. "The ring also symbolises the Packers' championship tradition in excellent fashion."

People have until August 22nd to comment on the Responsible Jewellery Council's (RJC) recently released discussion on Chain-of-Custody Certification.

The proposed system aims to enable businesses to demonstrate responsible, conflict-free supply chains for diamonds, gold and platinum metals.

RJC chief executive officer Michael Rae said: "The jewellery industry understands the importance of being able to substantiate claims to customers about the chain-of-custody, or provenance, of jewellery."

Luxury jewellery company Tiffany & Co is to open a new store at Frankfurt airport this month.

The brand's diamonds in platinum and 18ct-gold settings, fashion and fine jewellery, sterling silver products, watches and gifts will all be available.

Tiffany & Co group vice-president Europe Melvyn Kirtley said: "We are confident that visitors travelling through Frankfurt airport will be delighted by the presence and convenience of a Tiffany airport boutique, and we look forward to offering them the quality, craftsmanship and outstanding service for which Tiffany is renowned."
