Leading members of the jewellery industry gathered in Mumbai last week (December 10th) for an awards ceremony at the ITC, Grand Maratha.

Top designers working with precious metals and gems lined up at the MJGF-IJ Jewellers' Choice Design Awards 2011, presented by GIA.

Dishaa Gold & Platinum won in the Platinum Jewellery category, while awards were given out in 32 other categories.

The contest began in August and 18,000 votes received from jewellery retailers across India.

There were 300 entries across 33 categories, with 100 finalists making the final cut for the Mumbai event.

Other highlights of the evening included Tanishq' Titan Industries picking up the prize for Best Bracelet Design, while Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri won the Best Bridal Design award.
