Impala Platinum chief resigns 16th October 2006
Chief executive of Impala Platinum, Keith Rumble, has left the firm with immediate effect.
The mining company has announced that Mr Rumble has resigned as an executive director with immediate effect to pursue other interests.
Mr Rumble had announced on July 4th his intention to leave the company on December 31st this year citing other interests as a reason for his departure.
The announcement comes despite Mr Rumble achieving considerable success during his time at Impala, with the company having seen considerable increases in both its platinum production profile and its resource base during the six years since he has been in charge.
In the July statement, Impala revealed that chief financial officer David Brown would take over from Mr Rumble on his departure and it appears that the appointment will now be brought forward with immediate effect.
