Hydrogen refuelling centre opens in Germany 10th October 2006

A new centre which will combine hydrogen refuelling facilities for fuel cell vehicles with further research into fuel cells has been unveiled in Germany.

Linde Group has launched its Linde Hydrogen Centre near Munich, which will supply hydrogen refuelling services to a test fleet of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in the region.

The move represents an important step in the development of the infrastructure necessary to make fuel cell vehicles a reality on the road throughout Europe.

"Our new hydrogen centre not only demonstrates our willingness to invest in especially promising future technologies, but most importantly, it is a further step on the long, but rewarding path towards hydrogen-based sustainable mobility," commented Linde's president and chief executive Dr Wolfgang Reitzle.

Officially opening the centre, Mr Reitzle welcomed the move as the company looks to further develop research into using hydrogen fuel cells to power vehicles.
