Hydrogen motorcycle is unveiled 15th March 2005
The world's first purpose-built fuel cell motorcycle was unveiled today at the Design Museum in London.
The Emissions Neutral Vehicle (ENV) bike, which is virtually silent with almost no harmful emissions, has a top speed of 50mph and a range of at least 100 miles.
The hydrogen bike is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell, enabling it to run continually for up to four hours.
It was designed by Seymourpowell to a design brief by Intelligent Energy, a British energy solutions company.
Seymourpowell director Nick Talbot said: "ENV is light, fast and fun. It has good ground clearance, great off-road suspension travel and a very carefully considered power-to-weight ratio.
"I have ridden motorbikes for years and in the process of designing the bike I have become a convert to fuel cell technology."
Intelligent Energy specialises in developing new energy technologies and creating and implementing power delivery services for its business partners based on its world-leading PEM fuel cell technology.
