Fuel Cell Today has published its report on the fourth Nordic hydrogen and fuel cell conference, which was held in the southern Swedish city of Malmo on the 25th and 26th of October 2011.

The conference included an update on NEXPEL, a project to develop an efficient, cost-effective PEM water electrolyser. The researchers have developed a novel iridium catalyst which has been found to have high activity for the oxygen evolution reaction. Electrolyser technology in general received a lot of attention, as it is a carbon-free way to generate hydrogen when driven by wind or solar power.

The report gives an overview of Nordic programmes that are working towards the commercialisation of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (which use PEMFC) in their respective countries. PEMFC forklift trucks also emerged as an application that is attracting much interest.

The report can be downloaded free from the website.
