Hy9 launches new manufacturing plant 29th November 2006

A new manufacturing facility has been opened by hydrogen purifier producer Hy9 in an effort to keep up with rising demand for its products.

The firm has unveiled its new facility in the US as it aims to keep pace with the growing demand for its low-cost hydrogen purifiers.

Development of its new purifiers has seen demand surge, because Hy9 has developed a new system of purification which uses ten times less palladium than conventionally used palladium/silver tubular purifiers.

This means that the company's purifiers are far less expensive than traditional products, which has resulted in a surge in demand and the need to open a new manufacturing plant to cope.

Hy9 points out that palladium membranes are "the only solution for high purity hydrogen
Purification", because the precious metal alloys enable hydrogen atoms to "permeate through the membrane while blocking all other contaminants".

"Hy9 Corporation has manufactured and sold over 600 high purity hydrogen purifiers with millions of cumulative hours of global field use," commented the company's Chief Executive, Jeffrey Altman.
