Honda to launch fuel cell vehicle leasing 16th November 2006
Car manufacturer Honda has announced plans to lease a fleet of its fuel cell vehicles in California.
The company will lease a small number of its fuel cell vehicles, which are based on its FCX prototype.
John Mendel, Honda's US sales chief, explained that launch is designed to demonstrate to the public that fuel cell vehicles are a viable alternative to conventional vehicles and will help to deliver a more sustainable future.
Speaking to Bloomberg, he said that the leasing scheme would show to the public that there is a "near-term role" for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
"It will be positioned as the environmental badge of honour for our customers," added Mr Mendel.
