Greg Struble joins Stillwater Mining 17th January 2008
Stillwater Mining, the only producer of palladium and platinum in the US, has announced the appointment of Greg R Struble as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Mr Struble, who has over 25 years' experience in underground metal and non-metal mining has left Barrick Gold where he was Underground Project Manager.
In his new role, Mr Struble will be responsible for the company's operations.
Frank McAllister, Stillwater's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said: "He brings to Stillwater significant underground mining experience and a hands-on style of management that should complement the company's continuing efforts to optimise operations at the Stillwater and East Boulder Mines."
Mr Struble has a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from Michigan Technological University and is also a member of the Montana Mining Association, the Nevada Mining Association and the Society of Mining Engineers.
Stillwater Mining is the largest primary producer of platinum group metals (pgm) outside of South Africa and Russia.
