This year's Grammy Awards in Los Angeles saw the music industry's best awarded for their efforts and platinum was not only reserved for best selling records but also the stars' wardrobes.

Singer Beyonce was snapped on the red carpet wearing a Lorraine Schwartz platinum, diamond and pearl bracelet, before heading onto the stage to pick up the award for best contemporary R&B album for B'Day.

The platinum display also helped the awards to achieve their highest TV ratings in three years, with 20 million Americans tuning in to witness the glamour.

At other recent award ceremonies, platinum has also been featuring highly, most notably at this years Screen Actors Guild Awards. Jennifer Hudson, Cate Blanchett and Mary Louise-Parker all wore platinum earrings, bracelets, and cocktail rings by Neil Lane, while Teri Hatcher sported a platinum and diamond ring by Kwiat.

At this year's Golden Globes, a long list of US TV stars also wore platinum.
