Geneva Motor Show goes green 20th March 2007
This year's Geneva Motor show appears to have been one of the greenest ever, with an increasing number of companies seeking to assert their eco-friendly credentials.
Held from March 8th to 18th, the event saw a number of companies talking up the future of fuel cell technology while others were highlighting their efforts to reduce emissions through improved filter technology.
Mercedes Benz was eager to show off its new Bluetec engine, which the firm claims will provide significant energy efficiencies and fuel savings, while General Motors (GM) Chairman Rick Wagoner used the show to announce the launch of more fuel cell vehicles.
GM will now be adding to its fleet of 100 hydrogen powered Chevrolet Equinox fuel cell vehicles, which are due to be unveiled in the US later this year.
Honda, meanwhile, flexed its green muscles with the unveiling of two environmentally-friendly vehicles at the event, with its Small Hybrid Sports Concept and the latest, fully driveable Honda FCX Concept fuel cell car.
