Fuel cell named product of the year 2nd January 2007

Jadoo Power Systems has announced that its N-Gen Fuel Cell Power Unit has won a product of the year award.

The portable fuel cell system was named product of the year by Electronic Products magazine from thousands of electronic products released in 2006.

Generating 100W and 12VDC of clean energy support if a power grid fails, the N-Gen Fuel Cell Power Unit can be used to power a range of devices, including laptop batteries, satellite phones and portable radios.

Jadoo recommends use of the technology for off-grid applications such as law enforcement or emergency support where power is unavailable or unreliable, as well as powering consumer devices in the event of power failure.

The power unit uses Jadoo's patented N-Stor Fuel Canisters to provide multiple options for fuel runtime with no degradation or memory effect

Electronic Products executive editor, Alix Paultre, commented: "Fuel cells show great promise in driving devices off-grid without the environmental, bulk, or weight penalties of batteries and generators, but required design-in for their particular application. The N-Gen Fuel Cell Power Unit is the first prosumer fuel cell system, with industry-standard battery connectors for easy integration into consumer devices."
