Fuel cell database unveiled 23rd November 2006

The US department of energy, in conjunction with Fuel Cells 2000, has launched a new database containing information on all of all fuel cell projects in the country.

In an effort to provide better coordination of the various fuel cell and hydrogen power research projects which are currently taking place across the US, the new database has been set up as a comprehensive resource.

Stationary installations, vehicle demonstrations and fuelling stations are all contained on the database, which also contains a search function to make it simple for users to discover what projects are being carried out in the US.

The resource also has information on all policies and initiatives which are relevant to the development of fuel cells.

Fuel Cells 2000 programme director Jennifer Gangi said: "Combining the policy and incentive information in a free searchable database with stationary fuel cell installations, vehicle demonstrations, and hydrogen fuelling stations not only gives the public a portal to the growing fuel cell and hydrogen industry but also offers a valuable tool for state and local government officials looking to get involved."

It is hoped that the new database will provide a more coordinated effort in the development of fuel cells and enable those in the industry to work together to improve the technology.
