Shanghai Pearl Hydrogen Source Technology has unveiled the creation of a new fuel cell-powered motorbike.

The vehicle was unveiled at the Ninth China International Exhibition on Gas Technology, Equipment and Applications held in Shanghai.

Shanghai Pearl's general manager, Tian Binglun, claimed that the bike had attracted the attention of individuals keen to invest in green technology, adding that the vehicle proved to attract many visitors at the show.

Speaking to the Shanghai Daily, Mr Tian revealed that a number of trial orders have already been placed, with the vehicle having been completed only last month.

At present, Mr Tian believes that demand for the vehicle will be tempered by the lack of hydrogen fuel stations in countries around the world, but the firm believes that the bike is competitively priced at £1,300.
