Eland Platinum awards concentrator contract 23rd October 2006
Minng firm Eland Platinum has announced that it has awarded R600 million contract to South African engineering company DRA Mineral Projects.
The deal will see DRA developing a 250,000 t/m concentrator which will be used at Eland's mine on the western limb of the Bushveld complex.
Leon Uys, project development director at Eland, explained that DRA has already begun its work on the concentrator and the move represents Eland's continuing development of the mine.
Phase One of the project was started on January this year and as part of its effort to speed up development of the mine, Eland intended to order long-lead items needed for the project during the preconstruction study and project-finance phase.
