Eastern Platinum has revealed that its platinum group metal production grew to 22,666 ounces during the third quarter of 2006.

The figure represents an increase on no production from the same three months in 2005 and is also well up on production for the previous three months of 2006.

Production of platinum group metals increased by over 10,000 ounces during the third quarter compared to the previous three months, when output stood at 12,570 ounces.

The company has also indicated that it intends to further increase its platinum production.

Eastern Platinum's chief financial officer told Reuters: "The capital is in place that will allow for a ramp-up of production."
