Eastern Platinum announces new hires 11th December 2007

Eastern Platinum has announced two new executive-level appointments in Canada and a management hire in South Africa, as part of its ongoing expansion drive.

Horng Dih HD Lee has been named as the firm's new Vice-President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, having previously worked for Deloitte & Touche, Diamond Field Resources, Ivanhoe Mines and Northern Orion Resources.

Former-Flour Daniel employee Brian Montpellier, meanwhile, will take the role of Vice President of Project Development.

Mr Montpellier joins the company having worked extensively in the engineering sector, during which time he was involved in more than 30 major international mining projects.

Finally, mining industry veteran Johannes Spies will assume the role of General Manager at the firm's Crocodile River mine, bringing to the position some 40 years of experience in the sector.

A statement from Eastern Platinum said: "These appointments reflect both the rapid growth of Eastern Platinum during the previous 24 months and its profile going forward, with an emphasis on financial controls, financial reporting and corporate development."
