Discussions on EU emissions legislation continue 22nd January 2004
The Motor Vehicles Emissions Group has continued discussions on the next phase of European light duty and heavy emissions standards.
Focus has been concentrated on the exact nature of the light duty EU V questionnaire, which is to be published for consultation to allow industry stakeholders to examine a range of emission control strategies.
In total, five emission reduction options for Spark Ignited and Compression Ignited (CI) engines will be published for capability and cost comparisons.
All member states and organisations are invited to contribute to the Stakeholder Consultation, which will run from February to the end of April 2004.
In relation to EU VI for heavy duty engines, NOx standards will be tightened further and small particulates emissions targeted.
