DaimlerChrysler signs diesel filter deal 15th May 2006

DaimlerChrysler has signed an agreement with a filtration manufacturer to help it develop a system to help meet US emission controls.

The firm has brought in Donaldson to provide some after-treatment technology from 2007 to 2009, in order to keep its diesel engines in line with standards set down by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The after-treatment device includes packaging for the Detroit Diesel and Mercedes Benz MBE900.

Donaldson will supply diesel oxidation catalysts and diesel particulate filter packaging, which will form a part of DaimlerChrysler's system to meet the official requirements.

"We are pleased that DaimlerChrysler has selected Donaldson as its exclusive medium-duty exhaust and emissions after-treatment device supplier," said Tom Scalf, general manager of the emissions group at Donaldson.

"This award further demonstrates that Donaldson's innovation, technology and development capabilities continue to be recognized by our OEM (original equipment manufacturer) partners."

He added: "This is the largest medium-duty business order awarded by an OEM to an emissions control systems provider for the US market for 2007."
