Clean Diesel Technologies (CDT) has signed a commission agent agreement to boost the distribution of its platinum-based emissions control systems.

The company has formed an alliance with shipbroker MJLF & Associates to identify opportunities for rolling out its Platinum Plus fuel additive and Purifier group of products.

CDT is hoping that it can expand the business to include the marine and off-road market segments, which require methods of reducing harmful emissions from their vessels' diesel engines.

Michael L Asmussen, President and Chief Executive of CDT, expressed his delight at securing a potentially "long and successful" partnership with MJLF.

"Previous attempts to penetrate these markets directly have not delivered the desired result," he said.

"[But] we are confident that MJLF's worldwide presence and extensive relationship network with large target customers will provide the visibility and credibility we need to build our high value fuel efficiency and emission control business across the globe."

CDT revealed last month that it is currently in the process of effecting a merger and the finalisation of definitive proxy materials with Catalytic Solutions.
