Bosch launches Denoxtronic in India 26th October 2005
Platinum spark plug provider Bosch has announced that it will be distributing its Denoxtronic technology throughout India.
The technology lowers nitrous oxide emissions by up to 85 per cent and particle emissions by up to 40 per cent when used with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) catalytic converter, according to Bosch.
As part of its efforts to deliver the Euro IV-compliant technology to India, Bosch has announced that it will also be increasing its research and development programmes in the country.
The Denoxtronic technology is also said to be five per cent more fuel efficient than ordinary catalytic converters, therefore offering an incentive to carmakers other than the emission-reducing advantages that it offers.
The arrival of the technology in India comes following Bosch's debut of Denoxtronic in Japan during the final quarter of 2004 and into the European market at the beginning of 2005.
Platinum spark plugs are becoming increasingly popular, especially in the North American market, where recent research from Frost and Sullivan found the increased durability offered by platinum plugs is resulting in more manufacturers choosing them over traditional copper spark plugs.
